The Black Jumpsuit

Consider black jumpsuits the edgier alternative to the ubiquitous LBD. After all, the look is just as versatile, and it’s been cropping up everywhere, with celebrities like Sarah Jessica Parker, Rooney Mara, and Carey Mulligan wearing sleek, sexy versions for evening. Accented with a pair of pointy-toe heels or a collar necklace, these one-pieces make a dramatic statement and elongate your figure.

SI's BESPOKE DESIGNING

The term became a bit old - as seamstresses and even couture is very hard to find in daily lives of people. Prêt-à-Porter is now dominating the scenes of fashion clearly.

However, we at Si Fashion Galerie strive to keep original fashion alive!

What is Bespoke? : Bespoke is an adjective for anything commissioned to a particular specification. It may be altered or tailored to the customs, tastes or usage of an individual purchaser. Synonyms are "Custom-made", "made to order", and "made to measure". Antonyms are "Off-the-shelf" and "ready-to-wear". Modding is a slang term that is different but somewhat related. It refers to personalization of an item after manufacture.

The word bespoke is derived from the verb to bespeak, meaning to "speak for something". The particular meaning of the verb form given in the OED, "to speak for, to arrange for, engage beforehand: to ‘order’ (goods)”, is first cited from 1583. The adjective, "bespoken", meaning “ordered, commissioned, arranged for” is first quoted from 1607. The term is generally more prevalent in British English, for example, bespoke jewellery (e.g. StyleRocks); American English, on the other hand, tends to use the word "custom" instead, as in custom car, custom motorcycle etc..

As soon as a customer walks into our store.. we have a lot to offer. A wide range of high fashion ranging from the most suitable and easy to wear dresses to very high end hand made couture dresses. If still, the customer finds it not to their tastes - we have designers in all our stores to sit with the customer then and there and draw!

That's the beauty of customized designing; we have an atelier that executes the dress from start to finish (since fabrics is also one of our many specialities - we don't have to go anywhere else!). Once the dress is ready after just a couple of fittings in between - the customer can take home their very own special couture dress - one of a kind - not to be found anywhere else... That's our endeavour - at Si Fashion Galerie, to make every woman feel special and unique!

Si Fashion Galerie congratulates the Pure London!

One of the things my CEO loves doing is visit various trade fairs across the world and review latest collections... "no greater learning than that" he says..

Pure London has always intrigued us over the years - finally we visited last year and this Feb too. It was a learning experience of sorts.

London is THE hub of Fashion in the world - undoubtedly. That by itself gives the show a very distinct edge. What I appreciated was the platform it provides new brands to connect with London Fashion buying world. It gives hope, it drives ambition and nurtures aspiration.

There is always room to criticise - however, considering the large scope it has tried to create over the period of years - Pure London I believe is doing well to support its initiative of helping international brands to settle in the UK and find a ground.

Si Fashion Galerie being a huge retail set-up in the UAE (5 stores in the United Arab Emirates), appreciates such international platforms to source great products and find that talent which needs a voice! Thank You Pure London!!
